Crawford suffered an ankle injury during the Raiders’ preseason finale. This represents a blow to the team’s EDGE situation, one that featured some notable offseason developments.
The Raiders agreed to sign Kwity Paye and re-sign Malcolm Koonce when they believed they were trading Maxx Crosby to the Ravens. After Baltimore nixed the trade, Las Vegas honored its previously agreed-upon FA deals. The team then traded Tyree Wilson during the draft, doing so a day after drafting Crawford in the third round. Because Crawford did not receive a return designation, he is done for the season.
Vegas kept three running backs and free agent fullback addition Connor Heyward. The team retained Mike Washington Jr. and Dylan Laube behind starter Ashton Jeanty. Ogunbowale, a nine-year veteran pass-down back entering an age-32 season, would be eligible to pass direction to the practice squad should the Raiders want him to stick around.
