Falcons To Sign Charles Snowden Off Commanders’ Taxi Squad, Cut Bralen Trice

Charles Snowden has lined up his next NFL deal. The edge rusher is set to depart Washington and head to Atlanta.
Snowden is being signed off the Commanders’ practice squad to join the Falcons on their active roster, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports. In a corresponding move, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports fellow defensive end Bralen Trice is being cut. That marks an end to (or at least another interruption of) his injury-plagued Atlanta tenure.
Snowden made a pair of appearances with the Bears in 2021, but most of his NFL work has come as a member of the Raiders. The 28-year-old started nine games in 2024 and did the same last year. He totaled 67 tackles and 4.5 sacks over that span, and Snowden will now look to carve out a depth role on his latest team.
The pass rush was an area of focus in Atlanta’s case leading up to the start of the season. Jalon Walker was lost for the entire campaign due to an ACL tear, while fellow 2025 first-rounder James Pearce Jr. is currently serving an eight-game suspension. The Falcons have managed to put themselves mid-pack in the NFL with respect to sacks so far, but their effort to improve their depth at the defensive end spot continues.
Trice was drafted in the second round in 2024. Injuries kept him off the field for each of his first two seasons, however, delaying his debut until September of this year. The Washington product has played a rotational role through four games in 2026, totaling just two tackles along with one pass deflection. Trice is now headed to waivers.
Provided the 25-year-old clears, he will become a free agent. That could set up a return to the Falcons’ practice squad. Otherwise, Trice will be able to join a new team for the first time in his career.
