Bills WR D.J. Moore Day-To-Day With AC Joint Sprain

Bills wide receiver D.J. Moore left Thursday night’s win over the Lions before halftime and did not return with the team announcing a shoulder injury as the cause.
Moore is suspected to have suffered an AC joint sprain, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. ESPN’s Adam Schefter adds that the veteran wideout “has a chance” to play in Week 3, but is not “a lock.”
Moore, 29, arrived in Buffalo this offseason via trade from the Bears. He delivered in his Bills debut in Week 1, making five catches for 200 yards and a touchdown and looking well-worth the second-round pick it took to acquire him. He had just one touch before going down in Week 2, a rushing attempt that resulted in a one-yard loss – hardly a banner night for his fantasy owners.
But today’s news is relatively positive for a player who has not missed a game since 2020. That is particularly notable for a wide receiver, as players at the position often pick up minor injuries as a result of their sharp cutting and physical contact with opposing defenders. Moore has started 90 straight games over the past six years, though that streak could be in jeopardy given his shoulder injury.
Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver was also sidelined shortly before kickoff on Thursday night. He injured his hip during warm-ups, per NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe. Buffalo erred on the side of caution by holding Oliver out, but the team is not expecting his injury to result in a long-term absence, Rapoport adds.
